Eltham Park Dining Room Extension
In a spacious Corbett home in Eltham, the kitchen and dining area felt too small to comfortably host the couple’s extended family, making Sunday dinners a bit too cozy.
Although the homeowners had a beautifully maintained large garden, the connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces was lacking. They didn’t want to lose their beloved patio to a large rear extension, but they were frustrated by the cramped interior and sought a solution that would enhance the flow between the two areas.
The design brief also included a desire for more natural light and a look that would complement the character of the existing building. Working within the constraints of permitted development, a small hipped roof extension was created. This new addition featured French doors and glazing on two sides, offering seamless access to the garden, expanding the interior space, and flooding the room with natural light—all while preserving the garden view and patio area
