Eltham flexible living
This client had a charming, feminine natural style and a quaint home. She had recently added a rear extension to her kitchen but struggled to create a seamless connection between the two spaces while making the petite room serve all the functions she needed.
Living on her own but often hosting family dinners, she required seating for six, yet during weekdays she preferred a more casual setup—eating at the island instead of the dining table. The extended area also served as the main space for Rocky, her lively Labrador, and she wanted to use the dining table as a desk while working from home to keep him company.
In addition to these practical needs, the client loved having friends over for morning coffee and conversation. She envisioned a room where she could relax with a book and a cup of tea, or enjoy a glass of wine with a friend in the evenings. Good lighting was key—something adaptable for both day and night, whether she was dining, hosting, or working.
The design brief was to create a versatile, multi-functional space that could effortlessly adapt to her lifestyle while aesthetically connecting the kitchen to the extension. The result was a harmonious, practical, and inviting space that perfectly met her needs.
