Eltham Park Drawing Room

This grand, elegant space had one significant challenge – its long, narrow layout made arranging furniture difficult. The couple envisioned a light and airy room in a soft shade of white. However, with natural light pouring in from both the east and west, their initial paint selections looked great during the day but fell flat at night—or vice versa. The situation became even more frustrating when their beautiful red heirloom rug clashed with the chosen paint tones.

From an interior design perspective, the goal was to create a formal yet family-friendly space. The room needed to feel sophisticated enough to entertain friends, while ensuring the furnishings were safe for their young grandchildren—soft edges and durable materials were essential.

The final design incorporated their existing heirloom rug and wall units, alongside new light fixtures, mirrors, furniture, and two custom storage units made to the couple’s exact specifications. The result was a timeless space, both functional and beautiful, for family gatherings and formal entertaining alike.
